Historian, geographer, tourism expert, biology lover, social insect enthusiast, and most importantly – keen beekeeper.
Jan Rája has wide range of interests. One of them was motivated by his friend, Roman Linhart. They met 16 years ago on the Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. Roman was a enthusiast beekeepeer and honeybee researcher and has encouraged Jan´s interest in beekeeping as well. Roman has helped Jan in his beekeeping beginnings. Although each of them went later on their own professional path, they stayed in contact sharing knowledge, beekeeping news and friendship.
About 10 years ago Roman had a brilliant idea about eliminating the Varroa mite and shared it with his best friend, Jan. The team started working together on first prototypes. It took several seasons. And the rest of the story you can see in our sophisticated Thermosolar Hive 🙂
